Hardy, dwarf shrub with slightly-fragrant, rosy-pink, tubular flowers with a yellow throat, in late spring, that attract hummingbirds. Pointy, green foliage with a purple tinge on a very compact, dense form. Great as a small accent plant, in the border, or used for mass plantings. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Plant in a protected area for best results; will benefit from snow cover in winter. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. After flowering is finished, prune back every few years to rejuvenate plant and to allow next years flower buds to set. Dead-heading spent flowers may encourage a new flush of blooms.
