Leathery and hairy, veined, grey-green foliage adds interesting texture to this tough shrub. Showy, flat-topped, creamy-white flower clusters in spring mature to clusters of pea-sized berries that start out green, turn orange-red then mature to black: fruit is inedible. Thick, smooth, grey branches and stunning, red to purple-red fall colour. Large, rounded shrub that is great as a specimen plant for large areas or used in the border. Very adaptable: drought and chinook tolerant. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges; can be cut back heavily to rejuvenate an older plant.
Available in select potted sizes.
