Wine-red buds open to single, deep pink blooms on showy panicles in spring with a spicy fragrance. Green, pointed, small foliage on an upright, compact shrub. Non-suckering; great specimen plant or used as a low hedge. Good cut flower. Fairytale Series Lilac. Best flowering in full sun. Prefers moist, well drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Lilacs bloom on old wood: prune right after flowering is finished to allow next years flower buds to set and to promote strong new growth.
