Fragrant, double, lavender-blue flowers, with lighter margins, on upright panicles in spring emerge from violet flower buds. Green, smooth, heart-shaped foliage turns yellow in fall. An old variety that is very hardy and fast growing. Suckering: great for hedges, screening and large areas. Great cut flower. Best flowering in full sun. Prefers moist, well drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Lilacs bloom on old wood: prune right after flowering is finished to allow next years flower buds to set and to promote strong new growth, suckers can be pruned anytime.
Available in select potted sizes.
