Clematis ‘Henry’

Vines: Clematis

Height: 10′ Width: 2-4′
Sun: Full to Part Sun Zone: 3

Large (6-7″) open star-shaped, white flowers with brown stamens on this vigorous climber. Flowers bloom in spring then usually again in late summer to early fall. Bright green, ovate foliage. Requires a support structure to climb such as a trellis or wall. Good cut flower. Clematis prefer moist, well-drained soil: keep roots cool in summer and protected in winter by covering them with compost or mulch. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Blooms on old (last years) and new wood (current seasons). Group B/2 pruning: prune back dead and weak growth in early spring, after buds open slightly. Lightly pruning back some stems after spring blooming may help encourage the second flush of flowers later in the season. To rejuvenate an older plant, prune back severely after the first flush of flowers every few years: this will likely not produce a second flush of flowers that year but still let next years buds set.

Available in select potted sizes.
