Hardy, fast-growing vine with green, three-lobed, serrated foliage on hairy stems. Greenish-white, fragrant hops are the cone-shaped blooms that hang from tendrils in late summer on female plants. Hops can be used in beer making. Male plant is needed for fruit to set on a female plant. Tough and adaptable plant with twining, climbing vines that is good for screening. Requires a support structure such as a trellis. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. In late winter/early spring, cut back close to ground level to encourage vigorous new growth.
Available in select potted sizes.
