Very hardy, showy climbing vine with red buds opening to clusters of tubular, scarlet flowers with orange throats from summer to fall. Glossy, round, green-blue foliage. Easy to grow, fast-growing honeysuckle that needs a support structure for its twining vines. Blooms last long and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Can be pruned in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges to shape or to encourage vigorous new growth.
