Fast-growing vine with clusters of very showy, rosy-red buds opening to tubular pink flowers with orange-yellow throats. Purple-red stems and green, oval foliage. Attractive, fragrant blooms last from summer to fall and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Climbing honeysuckle that requires a support structure. Protect roots in winter with mulch. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Can be pruned in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges to shape or to encourage vigorous new growth. Can be pruned back to keep it as a dense, shrub-like form.
