Clusters of flat-topped, cherry-red to pink flowers in summer. Rich green, pointy foliage emerges with red tips and turns burgundy in fall. Very hardy, fast-growing, compact shrub that is great when used in borders, low hedges or mass plantings. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Spent flowers can be sheared off to encourage continuous blooming. Blooms on new wood: to shape, prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges.
