Spiraea japonica ‘Gold Mound’
Shrub: Spirea
| Height: 2-2.5′ | Width: 2.5-3′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 3 |
Clusters of small, flat-topped pink flowers in summer above golden-yellow spring foliage that turns yellow-green in summer, then yellow-orange in fall. Pointy, toothed foliage on a low, compact, mounded shrub. Great colour contrast shrub for small areas or in the border. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Spent flowers can be sheared off to encourage a new flush of blooms. Blooms on new wood: to shape, prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges.
Available in select potted sizes.
