Finely cut, golden foliage on an upright, rounded shrub. Large clusters of tiny, creamy-white flowers in late spring mature into ornamental red berries in fall that attract birds. Great colour contrast specimen or border shrub. Best foliage colour in full sun. Prefers moist, rich, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. May die back to the snowline in zone 3 but as a vigorous grower it will regrow quickly; prune out any dead wood as needed. Prune in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges to control size or to rejuvenate old stems and to keep plant compact and bushy.
