Salix salicola ‘Polar Bear’

Silvery-blue, rounded-oval, hairy foliage on this very cold hardy, large shrub. Large catkins in early spring before it leafs out on silvery stems. Adds great colour contrast, can be used as a specimen plant, naturalization or in mass plantings. Prefers moist soil but thrives in both wet and dry areas once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune back heavily in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges to rejuvenate old stems or to promote vigorous new growth as needed.
Available in select potted sizes.
