Finely textured, narrow, blue-green foliage on purple, smooth stems that add winter interest. Small, hardy shrub with an upright, rounded shape with yellow fall colour. Great as a specimen plant or sheared as a low hedge. Prefers moist soil and does well in wet conditions. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning necessary: shear lightly when needed, for any heavy pruning, wait until late winter/early spring before new growth emerges. Can be pruned back to just above ground level if plant needs to be rejuvenated and to promote vigorous new growth.
