Coyote Willow

Shrub: Willow
| Height: 10′ | Width: 6.5-10′ |

Native shrub with fuzzy yellow catkins in early spring
before long, narrow silvery-green foliage appears. Slender, smooth branches start out yellow-green and mature to reddish-brown. Suckering shrub that is colony-forming: great for reclamation, slope stabilization and mass plantings by wet sites. Very hardy; thrives in wet soil and will tolerate standing water. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Every 3-5 years, prune back heavily in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges to rejuvenate old stems, or as needed to promote vigorous new growth.
Available in select potted sizes.
