Rosa x ‘Oscar Peterson’
Shrub: Rose
| Height: 2-3′ | Width: 2-3′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 3 |
Very showy, large, semi-double, pure white blooms with yellow stamens open up from orange-yellow buds. Low, upright shrub with glossy green, highly disease resistant foliage and excellent hardiness. Mildly-scented flowers bloom repeatedly from early summer until frost. Great cut flower. Canadian Artists Series rose: named after musician Oscar Peterson. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Roses need full sun for best flower production and a well-ventilated area; prefers moist, well-drained soil. Avoid getting the foliage wet when watering, instead water at soil level. Blooms on new wood: may cut back heavily in spring before growth emerges to promote new growth and better flower production, with heavy winter die back, prune back as low as the root system. Cut at a 45 degree angle rather than straight across, above an outward facing bud. Regular deadheading of finished flowers will promote more flower buds, ending a few weeks before end of summer.
Available in select potted sizes.
