Rosa ‘Winnipeg Parks’

Shrub: Rose

Height: 2.5-3′ Width: 2-2.5′
Sun: Full Sun Zone: 3

Red buds open to deep cherry-pink, double blooms with a mild fragrance on a low, compact shrub. Dark green foliage emerges red-tipped, then changes to red tinged again in fall. Repeat bloomer from early summer to frost with showy orange rose hips in fall. Good cut flower. Parkland Series rose. Popular and hardy variety with good disease resistance. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Roses need full sun for best flower production and a well-ventilated area; drought tolerant once established in moist, well-drained soil. Avoid getting the foliage wet when watering, instead water at soil level. Blooms on new wood: may cut back heavily in spring before growth emerges to promote new growth and better flower production, with heavy winter die back, prune back as low as the root system. Cut at a 45 degree angle rather than straight across, above an outward facing bud. Regular deadheading of finished flowers will promote more flower buds, ending a few weeks before end of summer to allow rose hips to form.

Available in select potted sizes.
