| Height: 8-10′ | Width: 4-5′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 2 |
Vigorous climbing rose with large, reddish-pink to purple, double blooms with yellow eyes. Showy orange rose hips in fall. Main flush of flowers in early summer and then repeat blooms until fall. Glossy green foliage on arching stems that can be trained to climb on a support structure or grown as a large, tall shrub. Excellent cut flower. Explorer Series. Hardy, disease resistant shrub; drought tolerant once established in moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Roses need full sun for best flower production and a well-ventilated area; prefers moist, well-drained soil. Avoid getting the foliage wet when watering, instead water at soil level. Blooms on new wood: may cut back heavily in spring before growth emerges to promote new growth and better flower production, with heavy winter die back, prune back as low as the root system. Cut at a 45 degree angle rather than straight across, above an outward facing bud. Regular deadheading of finished flowers will promote more flower buds, ending a few weeks before end of summer to allow rose hips to form.
Available in select potted sizes.
