Scarlet red, fully double mildly fragrant blooms, blooming from beginning of summer until frost. Glossy green, disease resistant foliage on a compact and upright, hardy shrub. Repeat bloomer; great cut flower. Canadian Special Events rose (Floribunda): Canada’s 150th anniversary rose. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Roses need full sun for best flower production and a well-ventilated area; drought tolerant once established in moist, well-drained soil. Avoid getting the foliage wet when watering, instead water at soil level. Blooms on new wood: may cut back heavily in spring before growth emerges to promote new growth and better flower production, with heavy winter die back, prune back as low as the root system. Cut at a 45 degree angle rather than straight across, above an outward facing bud. Regular deadheading of finished flowers will promote more flower buds, ending a few weeks before end of summer.
Available in select potted sizes.
