Tiger Eyes Cutleaf Sumac
Rhus typhina ‘Bailtiger’
Shrub: Sumac
| Height: 5-6′ | Width: 5-6′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 4 |
Very showy, chartreuse coloured new leaves mature to bright yellow and then to orange-red in fall for a stunning colour display. Downward-pointing, serrated, compound foliage has a tropical look. Fuzzy, rosy-pink stems and ornamental, large, red seed panicles on female plants that turn crimson. Suckers less than other sumacs and does well as a specimen plant or in mass plantings. Tolerates a wide range of soils and is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges: unwanted suckers can be removed anytime.
Available in select potted sizes.
