Tropical-looking, divided, feathery green foliage turns a scarlet red to purple in fall. Red, velvety, conical seedheads (on female shrub) are very showy, appearing in late summer/fall and persist into winter; smooth stemmed branches. Upright, mounded shrub that spreads by suckering: great for mass plantings or reclamation. Very hardy and tolerates a wide range of soils; drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges: unwanted suckers can be removed anytime.
Available in select potted sizes.
