Aromatic, dense, glossy green foliage on a low, spreading habit: beautiful scarlet-orange fall colour. Small yellow flowers in spring followed by showy, velvety red berries on female plants. Spreads settings roots wherever branches touch the ground: great fast-growing ground cover for slopes or banks or used for erosion control. Very hardy, tolerates a wide range of soils and is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as needed in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges: unwanted suckers can be removed anytime.
