Snowbird Potentilla
Potentilla fruticosa ‘Snowbird’
Shrub: Potentilla
Height: 2-3′ | Width: 2-3′ |
Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 2 |
Single white blooms cover this compact shrub from summer until frost: flowers become double with age. Green, small, fine-textured foliage. Good as a border plant or used for low hedges. Tough, adaptable plant that is drought and chinook tolerant and deer resistant. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions but should be kept moist until established: during drought will benefit from extra watering. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Blooms on new wood: annual pruning helps keep the shrub looking tidy and encourages new growth. Cut back one-third of the plant in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges or in fall when plant is dormant.
Available in select potted sizes.
