Potentilla fruticosa ‘Kobold’

Fluorescent yellow blooms from summer through fall on a dense, compact form. Small, finely-textured, green foliage. Great as a border plant, low hedge or in mass plantings. Tough, adaptable plant that is drought and chinook tolerant and deer resistant. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions but should be kept moist until established: during drought will benefit from extra watering. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Blooms on new wood: annual pruning helps keep the shrub looking tidy and encourages new growth. Cut back one-third of the plant in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges or in fall when plant is dormant.
