Potentilla fruticosa ‘Gold Drop’

Small, golden-yellow flowers cover this compact, dwarf shrub from summer until frost. Bright green, small, fern-like foliage with a rounded growth habit. Great specimen plant for small areas or as a very low hedge or used in mass plantings. Tough, adaptable plant that is drought and chinook tolerant and deer resistant. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions but should be kept moist until established: during drought will benefit from extra watering. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Blooms on new wood: annual pruning helps keep the shrub looking tidy and encourages new growth. Cut back one-third of the plant in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges or in fall when plant is dormant.
