Abbotswood Potentilla
Potentilla fruticosa ‘Abbotswood’
Shrub: Potentilla
| Height: 2-3′ | Width: 2-3′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 2 |
Masses of large white blooms cover this dense, spreading shrub from late spring until fall. Blue-green small foliage that turns yellow in fall. Great as a specimen plant, used in mass plantings or as a low hedge. Hardy, adaptable plant that is drought and chinook tolerant and deer resistant. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions but should be kept moist until established: during drought will benefit from extra watering. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Blooms on new wood: annual pruning helps keep the shrub looking tidy and encourages new growth. Cut back one-third of the plant in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges or in fall when plant is dormant.
Available in select potted sizes.
