Tiny Wine Gold Ninebark
Physocarpus opulifolius ‘SMNPOTWG’
Shrub: Ninebark
| Height: 3-4′ | Width: 3-4′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 3 |
Showy, compact shrub with small, serrated foliage that emerges as bright gold and matures to lime green. Clusters of button-like, white blooms cover the branches in spring as they emerge from pink flower buds. Showy red seed capsules in fall and peeling bark. Upright, dense growth habit: great colour contrast plant for small areas. Best foliage colour in full sun. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions; is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Flowers on old wood: prune after flowering to maintain shape. To rejuvenate an old plant, cut back strongly in late winter/early spring.
Available in select potted sizes.
