Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Mindia’

Shrub: Ninebark

Height: 7-8′ Width: 7-8′
Sun: Full to Part Sun Zone: 3

Striking shrub with coppery, orange-red, new foliage in spring that matures to a rich red, then scarlet in fall. Clusters of button-like, white flowers emerge from pink buds and cover ends of branches in early summer, followed by showy red seed capsules in fall. Peeling bark and reddish branches add winter interest. Hardy, rounded shrub that adds great colour contrast to your yard. Can be pruned into a round, compact shape or left to have a vase-shaped habit. Best foliage colour in full sun. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions; is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Flowers on old wood: prune after flowering to maintain shape. To rejuvenate an old plant, cut back strongly in late winter/early spring.

Available in select potted sizes.
