Dart's Gold Ninebark
Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Dart’s Gold’
Shrub: Ninebark
| Height: 4-5′ | Width: 4-5′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 2 |
Very hardy, compact shrub with attractive, lobed golden-yellow foliage that matures to lime green in summer, then gold-bronze in fall. Button-like, white flower clusters in spring turn into showy, red seed capsules in fall. Papery, peeling brown bark adds winter interest. Great as a specimen plant or for mass plantings. Best foliage colour in full sun. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions; is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Flowers on old wood: prune after flowering to maintain shape. To rejuvenate an old plant, cut back strongly in late winter/early spring.
Available in select potted sizes.
