Small, rounded shrub with dense, blue-green, fuzzy foliage. Inconspicuous, creamy-white blooms in summer are followed by small, red ornamental fall berries. Hardy shrub that is excellent as a hedge or foundation plant. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is drought and salt tolerant once established: do not let stand in water. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning needed but shearing can give it a more formal appearance: prune in early spring before new growth emerges.
