Tall, upright shrub with showy, pink, tubular blooms in spring that attract hummingbirds; followed by bright red, ornamental berries in mid to late summer. Bushy, rounded shrub with oval, blue-green foliage: resistant to aphids. Prefers moist-well-drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning needed: if plant becomes old, cut to ground level in spring to promote healthy new growth.
