Low-growing, broadleaf evergreen with dark green, glossy foliage that has golden-yellow margins and takes on a pink hue in fall through winter. Dense, spreading habit that adds great colour contrast. Inconspicuous, tiny flowers in early summer. Plant in a sheltered area in a zone 3 climate. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary while dormant: late winter/early spring is best, lightly shearing to shape or removing dead branches can be done anytime.
