Winged Burning Bush
Euonymus alatus
Shrub: Burning Bush
| Height: 6-8′ | Width: 7-8′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 3 |
Upright, rounded, very hardy shrub prized for its long lasting, brilliant red fall colour. Dark green, pointy leaves turn bright red in fall: best fall colour in full sun. Tiny, yellow-green spring flowers are followed by small, orange-red, ornamental fruit. Cork-like, ridged bark adds winter interest. Great accent plant or used as a screen or hedge. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is very adaptable once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary while dormant: late winter/early spring is best, lightly shearing to shape or removing dead branches can be done anytime.
Available in select potted sizes.
