Kelsey Dwarf Dogwood
Cornus sericea ‘Kelseyi’
Shrub: Dogwood
Height: 1.5-2.5′ | Width: 1.5-2.5′ |
Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 3 |
Compact and dwarf, graceful, hardy shrub with red-purple stems that add colour contrast in winter. Very dense, pointy foliage that is green in summer and turns yellow-red in fall. Clusters of white flowers in late spring/early summer that mature to white-blue, ornamental berries that attract birds in winter. Great accent plant for small areas, used as edging, great for mass plantings. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune in late winter/early spring to encourage new growth, control size, and keep them dense: remove about 1/3 of oldest stems annually.
Available in select potted sizes.
