Dwarf Crimson Dogwood
Cornus pumila
Shrub: Dogwood
| Height: 3-3.5′ | Width: 3′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 2 |
Dwarf and slow-growing, hardy shrub with an irregular, mounding habit. Interesting, new foliage emerging crimson red then maturing to green in summer; long, oval leaves. Clusters of small, white flowers in late spring turn into ornamental, black berries that attract birds. Good as a small space specimen shrub. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Needs little pruning: prune in late winter/early spring to encourage new growth and control shape.
Available in select potted sizes.
