Siberian Dogwood
Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’
Shrub: Dogwood
| Height: 6-8′ | Width: 6-7′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 2 |
Large, upright, very hardy shrub with bright red stems that add great colour contrast in winter. Pointy, veined, green foliage turns red-burgundy in fall. Clusters of creamy-white flowers in late-spring/early summer mature to white-blue, ornamental berries in late summer and attract birds in winter. Can be used as an accent shrub, planted in groupings or used as a hedge (plant 2′ apart for hedging). Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune in late winter/early spring to encourage new growth, control size, and keep them dense: remove about 1/3 of oldest stems annually.
Available in bareroot and potted sizes.
