Bud's Yellow Dogwood
Cornus alba ‘Bud’s Yellow’
Shrub: Dogwood
| Height: 5-7′ | Width: 5-7′ |
| Sun: Full to Part Sun | Zone: 3 |
Rounded, spreading form on this hardy shrub. Dark green, pointy foliage turns yellow in fall. Clusters of creamy-white flowers in late spring that mature to ornamental, white berries in summer that attract birds in winter. Bright yellow stems are a great colour contrast in winter. Can be used as an accent shrub, planted in groupings or used as a hedge (plant 2′ apart for hedging). Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune in late winter/early spring to encourage new growth, control size, and keep them dense: remove about 1/3 of oldest stems annually.
Available in select potted sizes.
