Dwarf and rounded form on this very small, cold- hardy, native shrub. Fine-textured, rounded, toothed, dark-green foliage that turns yellow in fall. Slow-growing. Excellent as a specimen shrub for small areas. Birch require moist, rich, fertile, and well-drained soil but this variety is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary in July only.
