Small, upright, oval, ornamental tree. Many showy, creamy-white, fragrant blooms in early summer and cherry-like bark; needs full sun for best flowering. Dense, dark green foliage matures to yellow in fall. Non-suckering and low maintenance: great as a feature tree and for small yards. Prefers well-drained soil; drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning is needed; if required, prune right after blooming so next years flower buds can set, dead branches can be removed anytime.
