Golden Willow
Salix alba ‘Vitellina’
Tree: Willow
| Height: 40-50′ | Width: 30-33′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 3 |
Very hardy, fast growing, low-branched tree. Dense, glossy, bright green foliage matures to yellow in fall. Golden branches are especially showy in winter. Great windbreak or shelterbelt tree; avoid planting near buildings because of its aggressive root system. Plant 10-12′ when using as a windbreak tree. Willows do great in wet or low-lying areas and are adaptable to many soil conditions, including poor soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. If necessary, prune back branches to encourage new growth in late winter/early spring; suckers and dead branches can be removed anytime.
Available in select bareroot sizes.
