Long-lived, slow-growing, hardy and reliable tree. Dark green, glossy, lobed foliage turns yellow to amber in fall; rounded, open canopy. Acorn nuts and corky, ridged bark appear with maturity. Specimen or street tree for large areas. Prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soil but tolerates drought once established. Great street tree as it is resistant to air pollutants. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. If necessary, prune while dormant, in late winter/early spring, dead branches can be removed anytime.
Available in select potted and caliper sizes.
