Tree: Ornamental Cherry & Plum

Small, rounded, ornamental tree covered with bright red buds that turn into clusters of pink, fragrant blooms in spring. Glossy, green, pointy foliage emerges after blooms open and turns yellow-orange in fall. Very hardy, non-fruiting, specimen tree great for small areas. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning necessary, if needed prune right after flowering; for major pruning late winter/early spring is best, dead branches can be removed anytime.
