Columnar, dense, fast growing, hardy tree.
Green leaves with silvery underside mature to yellow in fall. Disease resistant, seedless tree with a spreading habit. Excellent screen, windbreak or privacy tree. Plant 3-4′ apart, minimum, when planting as a windbreak. Poplars grow best in moist, rich soil but can grow in a wide variety of soils and are very adaptable. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune while dormant as needed, late winter/early spring is best; suckers should be pruned down as soon as they appear.
