Fast growing, dense, columnar, very hardy tree. Long living, disease resistant selection. Green, heart shaped foliage turns yellow in fall. Excellent windbreak, shelterbelt, or shade tree. Plant 6-7′ part when using as a windbreak. Poplars grow best in moist, rich soil but can grow in a wide variety of soils and are very adaptable. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune while dormant as needed, late winter/early spring is best; suckers should be pruned down as soon as they appear.
