Betula platyphylla ‘Fargo’

Tree: Birch

Columnar, narrow, showy tree. Dense, pointy, green foliage turns yellow in fall. Papery bark matures to yellow-white. Good specimen tree for narrow spaces or used as a privacy screen in a wind-protected area. Birch need very moist, rich, fertile, and well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
