Rounded, dense, hardy tree. Oval, toothed green foliage turns yellow in fall. Reddish bark matures to white, papery texture with age. Can be grown as single or multi-stemmed clumps. Great specimen tree or used in groupings for a natural look. Birch need very moist, rich, fertile, and well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
