Large, oval shaped tree with green, deeply lobed foliage that turns brilliant red in fall. Large specimen tree. Does best in a wind-protected, warm, southern location in zone 3. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
