Dense, upright-spreading form on this prairie hardy maple. Green, serrated foliage turns yellow to orange in fall. Bright red samaras stand out in summer. Great medium-sized specimen tree or used as a boulevard tree. Drought and alkaline soil tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
