Very hardy, dwarf shrub with arching branches. White, bell-shaped, white flowers in spring are followed by yellow-green, medium sized fruit on prickly stems. Fruit is good for jams and pies: ripens in July. Lobed, green foliage turns an attractive red in fall. Often used in reclamation sites. Tolerates a variety of soil conditions and is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring before new growth emerges with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer. Prune a one third section of canes back to the ground each spring to encourage new growth and better fruit production.
Self-pollinating.
Available in select potted sizes.
