Pyrus x ussuriensis ‘Ure’

Fruit: Pear

Height: 20-26′ Width: 16-20′
Sun: Full Sun Zone: 3

Very prairie hardy pear tree with a dense, upright growth habit. Clusters of beautiful, large, white spring blooms and glossy, green foliage that turns a stunning burgundy-purple in fall. Small, firm, green-yellow fruit is good for canning and jam. Ripens mid to late August. Fireblight resistant. Tree has great ornamental value and makes a great accent tree. Prefers moist, well-drained soil; drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. For major pruning wait until late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime. Prune while young to create open centered branching to allow for even sunlight which results in better ripening of fruit and good air circulation.

Requires another variety of pear tree within 500′ for cross-pollination (approximately one city block).

Available in select potted and caliper sizes.
