Fruit: Pear

Dense, vigorous grower, with an upright growth habit on this hardy pear tree. Clusters of showy, large, white blooms in spring and glossy, green foliage that turns a stunning yellow to purple in fall. Green-yellow, 2″ size fruit with a medium-firm texture that is best used for jams, cooking or baking, and good for eating fresh. Ripens late August. Tree has great ornamental value and makes a great accent tree. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. For major pruning wait until late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime. Prune while young to create open centered branching to allow for even sunlight which results in better ripening of fruit and good air circulation.
Requires another variety of pear tree within 500′ for cross-pollination (approximately one city block).
Available in select potted sizes.
